I am indeed alive and well.
Just neglecting my little corner of the internet that's all.
I returned home from an incredible mission trip about a week ago
and I have so much I'd like to share.
Including the fundraising that took place beforehand.
But I plan on breaking up those posts with what's happening now.
And quite honestly...there's a lot.
Hence the blog neglect. :)
and the impending arrival of their new baby boy
with a couples shower. My husband's dream come true. ;)
I had the pleasure of working with my other sweet friend, Leanne.
Do you know her? She's kind of famous.
If you're a teacher you've probably heard of her blog. :)
Anyway she was the perfect partner in crime to help me pull off this shower,
less than a week after returning home. :)
So it was super casual with absolutely no fluff or shower games. ;)
I think I may have invented something new in the party world.
In place of a dessert bar, we had a chip and dip bar.
Has this been done before?
But it totally fits our crowd.
We had buffalo chicken dip, hummus, homemade salsa,
corn dip and bacon and caramelized onion dip
plus all the different chips to mix and match.
I had this chevron fabric and a pillow form
so I was a total nerd and made a matching pillow for the party. :)
The guys got off pretty easy at this shower.
They had beer to drink and washers to play while the girls opened gifts.
We even played the Sporting KC game. :)
We got super lucky and had GORGEOUS weather
- very uncommon for July in Kansas -
and spent the rest of the evening on the deck.
Thank you also to my friend Lizz for the gorgeous flowers and fruit
and to Allison for laboring over the buffalo chicken dip!
A little girl and now a sweet little man.
Simpsons. You. Are.
