maternity shoot - take 2

Here is the second maternity shoot
my dear friend Allyson did for me!

This shoot was much warmer and fuzzier
than the last one. :)

I know it might be strange looking at belly shots
knowing my sweet baby girl is already here
but I wanted to make sure I posted them. :)

Check back in tomorrow
cause I have the photos you REALLY want to see...
Jia Rose in the buff looking oh so scrumptious.
Can't wait to share!! :)

week 1.

Hello!
I'm back with just a few photos documenting Jia's first week of life.
And yes, most are Instagram photos
as my phone is much more handy than my camera these days. :)
Oh, and I know there might be some question in the pronunciation
of her name...its pronounced Jee-uh.
Dozing in the hospital.
First bath at home - she loved it. :)
Pretty pink flowers from Jia admirers. :)
My baby monkey.
Our first park outing.
Big{est} brother has asked to hold her a ton this week.
He's so sweet with her and is a great helper to me!
Hand-me-down outfit from her cousin Hayley.
And one of the many, many bows her mother has made her. :)
Napping with Papa.
My hubby's parents were with us a few days before she was born
and a few days after to help us out.
They just left yesterday so I am officially ON MY OWN.
Yikes.
Jia's first public appearance - my sister Cassie's basketball Senior night!
She loved it. ;)
And was quite the hit. :)
And lastly, Jia helping me craft. :)

My baby girl is only a week old
but I am so absolutely smitten with her I almost can't stand it.
Remember when I was worried about having a girl?
It makes me laugh now. :)
I love her just like I loved my boys when they were born
but now I have a baby doll to accessorize! ;)

Life is definitely "interesting" right now as we are making this transition
into a new normal but I'm going to do my best to find time to blog!

Remember This - The Grand Opening!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I thought today's post was perfect for this LOVEly holiday
as it has a Valentine's theme!
Over the weekend my mom opened the doors
to her new scrapbooking/paper supply shop in Gardner, KS
and I mentioned here that she hired me to do the grand opening!

Being that she was opening so close to Valentine's Day
and the shop was already decked out in v-day papers & ribbons
we stuck with that theme and went with
a pink & white color scheme with touches of red & aqua.
I hung paper lanterns & paper hearts that I had stitched on
over the window and made an envelope banner
out of cardstock & heart shaped doilies.
And glittered the clothespins of course.
Cupcakes are by Cake Chick.
These AMAZING Valentine's cookies are by a new girl {Icings by Ang}
that I tried out for the event and I was NOT disappointed!!
They were SO perfect for the event - and delicious too!
Oreo Cakersters rolled in sprinkles and piped with frosting hearts.
Easy! :)
Heart shaped cream cheese, sundried tomato & pesto layered dip.
I just pressed all the layers into a greased cookie cutter
and refrigerated overnight!
My new sister-in-law getting some coffee. :)
Gotta have blue mason jars, of course!
My mom sells these spools of bakers twine in her shop
as well as the adorable heart pins.
I made the little flags with inspirational words and stuck them in cardstock.
Love this little tiered dish!
These hershey kiss labels were found here - so perfect! This is raspberry pepper jelly over heart shaped cream cheese. :)
Pink lemonade with strawberries!
A little heart banner I stitched using scrapbook paper from the shop.
It's taped to the front of the register counter.
The giveaway table...
I stitched pink doilies together that I found
in the Michael's dollar section to make a table runner.
I might be stealing this. ;)
The giveaway sign I made and $3 walmart frame,
painted and distressed. :)
My mom {left} and her store manager {right}!

This was such a fun event to plan
and I'm SO glad I was not having a baby instead of setting it up! :)

Be sure to check out my maternity photos
by, who else?, my friend and favorite photographer Allyson!
She's so talented!!
